Synced dailies. Without the all-nighter.
Stringout is DIT and assistant-editor software for dailies prep after offload. It organizes the shoot, syncs dual-system sound, lines up the cameras and builds the stringout, so editorial starts from synced picture and sound instead of a folder of rushes. You get the credit.
No footage needed. We bring a sample project.
Prep on your Mac is free. Pro, $24 USD per person per month, opens the stringout directly in your editor. See pricing

Still syncing clap by clap?
| Job | The usual way | With Stringout |
|---|---|---|
| The sync pass | The usual way: Hunting claps when timecode drifts or was never jammed. | With Stringout: Timecode, slate and waveform sync, with doubtful matches flagged. |
| The angles | The usual way: Lining up every camera before editorial asks for multicam. | With Stringout: Two to four angles aligned, one per track. |
| The stringout | The usual way: Laying out takes in the small hours, against tomorrow’s call time. | With Stringout: A starting sequence built for you, ready to check and hand off. |
What happens after offload? Every card and roll lands in one tidy project.
Add the copied camera cards and sound rolls to a project. Clips keep scene, take and reel metadata from supported cameras and recorders. If you move a clip to another bin or rename it, that choice survives the next prep pass, so your house layout holds.

Timecode if you jammed. Waveform if you didn’t.
Automatic waveform sync places separate sound against picture using timecode, slate and the audio itself. Every clip shows Synced, Provisional or Needs review, so you check the few that need it instead of all of them. Provisional means a placement lacks confirming evidence. Needs review means the evidence conflicts.

Two, three or four cameras? Lined up, one angle per track.
Automatic multicam sync aligns two to four overlapping angles on one clock and lays them out one angle per track. Each recording keeps its own start and end and stays linked to its camera file. Build the multicam clip in your editor once it opens.
What does editorial receive? A synced stringout, checked before it leaves.
Before handoff, Stringout counts the clips still marked for review. Export the stringout as OpenTimelineIO or EDL/ALE on Free, or with Pro open it directly in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro. Editorial starts from synced picture and production sound, not a folder of rushes.

Card to cut. Your whole post pipeline, in one app.
Most teams are still taping together a transcoder, a sync tool, a transfer service and a remote desktop. With Stringout, one project carries the footage from the copied cards to the editor’s timeline, on storage you already own, at one price per seat. Be the team that figured this out first.
